Biodiversity is a precious feature of our planet and the human population shares the space with around 9 billion types of plants, animals, and other organisms.
Nowadays, however, the planet faces a reduction in biodiversity due to several factors such as habitat loss and overexploitation, according to the Living Planet Report issued in 2018 by WWF. Analyzing those factors closely, we find that the activities responsible for this negative impact being agriculture, hunting, and harvesting.
That fact connects the problem straightly to our plates.
Being conscient of the impact we cause in nature and biodiversity can be the key to follow conscient choices from the individual to the global level. Maybe, considering a clear picture of the consequences of our habits and choices, we will be able to leave the comfort zone and take action to minimize the negative pressure suffered by the planet.
